Des is a professional Engineer and a senior member of the institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has extensive experience in engineering, telecommunications, project management, business consulting and information systems security consulting. He has wide experience in National and International volunteer programs and has provided consulting services via the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Bolivia, Peru, Mongolia, Tanzania and Ethiopia. He also completed social development programs in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Sri Lanka.

Des holds a BASc. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, specializing in computer systems. He also holds a Masters degree in Information Systems Security Management, from the Concordia University.

Des has travelled extensively and enjoys learning and experiencing other cultures and societies. He speaks English and German and is a student of Spanish and has basic communication skills in Spanish.

He currently provides consulting services in Information systems security related projects such as security policy development, risk assessment, risk management, information security audits, business impact analysis and information life cycle management.

He has been actively involved in supporting social development programs; responsible monitoring and management, researching funding methodologies from international agencies and using the Logical Framework to better manage the goals and deliverables of projects.
